Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pearse Mullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Reggie Ray!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mullen fails to land with a series of punches.
Ray fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mullen throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ray connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Ray shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mullen pinned against the cage. Mullen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Mullen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ray fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mullen throws a head kick that misses.

Ray closes the distance and clinches.
Mullen lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Mullen lands a shot to the body.
Ray is trying to maintain a safe position but Mullen gets an underhook and turns Ray into the cage.
Ray has Mullen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mullen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mullen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ray moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Mullen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ray tries to avoid it but Mullen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ray to the ground. Ray escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ray jumps guard but Mullen stands there with Ray around his waist. Ray gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mullen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Mullen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mullen in particular looking to stall.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mullen connects with a nice short shot to Ray's temple.
Mullen is trying to control. Ray wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Mullen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Mullen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mullen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ray really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mullen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ray tries to roll over but Mullen keeps him under control.
Mullen lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mullen landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Mullen throws a nice looking combination but Ray bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Ray looks to land a combination. Mullen sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Ray shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mullen but Mullen pushes him off and we're back to square one.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Mullen feints a jab promting Ray to slip. Mullen then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ray slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mullen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ray connects with a looping right hand.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mullen lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ray has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ray and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Horrible takedown attempt by Mullen or perhaps it was just good defense by Ray, which made it look bad.

Mullen is looking to work some ground and pound but Ray has wrist control.
Mullen is stalling in the full guard.

Mullen stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Mullen shoots in looking for a takedown. Ray tries to sprawl out of it but Mullen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ray manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mullen takes a kick to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ray looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mullen is fending him off so far but Ray persists. Nope, Mullen circles away and we're back to standing.

Ray lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Ray kicks off Mullen and gets to his feet.
No luck for Ray with that takedown attempt.
Mullen looks to throw the jab but Ray is out of range.
Ray goes for a double leg but Mullen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mullen continues to drive forward.
Pearse Mullen is winning the standup battle so far.
Mullen misses with a few strikes there.
Pearse Mullen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nice takedown defense from Mullen. No joy for Ray on that attempt.
Ray sizes up Mullen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Ray throws a fast counter high kick but Mullen manages to duck under it in time.

Mullen moves into range and clinches up with Ray.
Ray wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ray is trying to pull guard but Mullen turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Ray tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Reggie Ray has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ray is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Mullen is defending well for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pearse Mullen.
Well Mullen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
