The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcus fails with a takedown attempt.
As Marcus looks to move away, Kriel throws a big counter combo but Marcus just gets out of the way.
Marcus has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kriel.
Kriel stuffs the takedown attempt from Marcus. Marcus gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marcus bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kriel has one of Marcus's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Marcus is looking to take a break and control but Kriel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kriel wants to control but Marcus postures up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Marcus is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kriel knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Marcus is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kriel is trying to escape and Marcus transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kriel is forced to tap! Nice work there by Marcus! Very nice indeed!
