Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brendan Duff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reno Rawlings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duff's entrance music is Determined by Mudvayne. A fine choice. Rawlings has chosen Burned as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brendan Duff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reno Rawlings!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Duff there.

Duff attempts a counter takedown but Rawlings avoids it well and moves away.
Rawlings throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rawlings uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Duff.

It seemed like Rawlings was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Rawlings looks to land a right hand but Duff moved out of range.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rawlings has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Rawlings uses his free foot to push down on Duff's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Duff.
Rawlings cracks Duff with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Brendan Duff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reno Rawlings.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Duff is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rawlings's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rawlings's back!

Duff looking to break Rawlings's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Rawlings remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Duff will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

What can Rawlings do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Duff's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brendan Duff.
Well Rawlings has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
