PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ozzy McKane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Camatta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McKane comes to the cage accompanied by SAIL - AWOLNATION. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ozzy McKane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Antonio Camatta!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Camatta stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from McKane.
McKane jabs Camatta to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Camatta uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McKane.
And Camatta tries to counter it with a takedown but McKane pushes his down on his head and steps out.
McKane looks to land a left hand but Camatta moved out of range nicely.
McKane fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Camatta looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Camatta uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McKane.
A big right from Camatta misses.
Camatta ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
McKane misses with a telegraphed body shot
enabling Camatta to counter with a crisp jab.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Camatta has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
McKane misses with a few strikes there.
Camatta feints the counter takedown.
The fighters circling - Camatta throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Camatta on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by McKane. McKane obviously looking to wear him down.
McKane lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
McKane tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Camatta was well out of range. Poor timing from McKane.
A little jabbing left from Camatta on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Camatta moves away from the strike by McKane.
Camatta looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McKane connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
McKane missing with a left hand there. Camatta was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

McKane takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Camatta takes one on the button.
McKane takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Camatta fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging McKane to the ground. Camatta is now in McKane's guard.
McKane controls Camatta momentarily but Camatta frees himself.

Camatta stands up over McKane, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Camatta loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

McKane keeping moving, preventing Camatta from controlling successfully.
Camatta is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McKane throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

A looping hook to the body misses from Camatta. McKane does a little dance to reset his feet.
Camatta tries for a takedown but McKane sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
McKane takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
McKane misses with a body shot.
McKane lands a jab to Camatta's midsection.
Camatta swings for the body but McKane moves out of range.
Camatta throws an ugly left hook that misses
and McKane cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Camatta looks to land a left hand but McKane moved out of range nicely.
McKane fakes the leg kick and cracks Camatta in the body.

McKane ducks under a wild hook from Camatta.
A jab from McKane does it's job there.
McKane listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McKane throws an overhand right that lands on Camatta's shoulder, as Camatta tries to avoid the shot.
McKane scores with a jab. Camatta acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
McKane throws the left hand but Camatta avoids the punch easily.
Camatta throws a push kick but McKane slaps the foot to one side.
McKane thumps Camatta with a low kick.
McKane lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
McKane connects with an inside leg kick.
McKane takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Camatta walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

McKane cracks Camatta with a right hand to the side of the head.
McKane missing with a left hand there. Camatta was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McKane lands a glancing blow to the side of Camatta's head.
McKane avoids the body shot from Camatta.
McKane misses with a looping left.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ozzy McKane dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


McKane drops his hands momentarily and Camatta takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
McKane misses with a wild body shot.
McKane stalks Camatta and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Camatta's face. Camatta staggers backwards, shaken.
McKane is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Camatta.
McKane is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Camatta can do to turn this around?
Camatta throws a jab when McKane was well out of range.
McKane checks a leg kick.
McKane appears to be looking for a big counter.
Ozzy McKane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Camatta's hands are dropping dangerously low here and McKane connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Camatta scrambles back to his feet.
McKane looks to throw the jab but Camatta is out of range.

McKane shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Camatta manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Camatta escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McKane gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Camatta is looking for a triangle but McKane pushes his legs off easily.

McKane tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Camatta tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McKane wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Camatta keeps trying to improve his position.

Camatta regains full guard. Nicely done.
McKane passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Camatta is looking for a sweep.

Camatta wants to control but McKane postures up.

McKane tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McKane has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Antonio Camatta has got the better of the ground game so far.

McKane thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Camatta manages to get back to half guard.
Camatta is looking to control McKane's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Camatta avoid being mounted?

Camatta slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Camatta is adopting a defensive guard.

McKane got a little sloppy there for a moment and Camatta has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McKane has managed to get both his arms back between Camatta's legs - danger averted.
McKane wants to control from the top but Camatta keeps moving.

Ozzy McKane showed his dominance in that final round.
