Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Warren Daren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guy Laliberte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guy Laliberte will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Hemmingworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laliberte getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

It looks like Warren Daren has been cut.
Daren shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Laliberte sprawls well. Laliberte wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Daren gets slowly back to his feet.
Laliberte tries to land a body kick

and Daren counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Daren is working for a submission of some sort.

Daren seems to be working for a kimura but Laliberte defends the submission attempt.

Daren escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Laliberte gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Laliberte told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Warren Daren will probably get the nod.

Laliberte fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Daren on the side of the head.

Daren gets the takedown into side control.

Daren swings around for an armbar but Laliberte sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Daren's guard.
Daren can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Laliberte controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that Laliberte has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Daren is trying to control the position but Laliberte postures up.

Laliberte tries to pass to full mount but Daren defends it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Daren is looking to reverse the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Daren looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Laliberte is fending him off so far but Daren persists. Nope, Laliberte circles away and we're back to standing.
Laliberte throws a big counter head kick but Daren avoids it with no problem.
Daren tries for a takedown but Laliberte sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Daren is trying hard to land a takedown here. Laliberte sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Daren tries to close the distance and clinch up but Laliberte swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Laliberte fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Daren.

Guy Laliberte showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Laliberte turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Warren Daren is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Laliberte throws a sloppy head kick and Daren moves out of range easily.
Daren tries to counter with a takedown but Laliberte is quick to defend against it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Daren.
Daren tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Laliberte defends well and Daren ends up having to push Laliberte into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Laliberte fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Daren has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Daren takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Laliberte lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Laliberte connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Laliberte dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Daren. That did some damage!

Laliberte feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Daren sprawling to the canvas! Daren rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Laliberte finish him?!

Warren Daren's cut is getting worse.
Daren glances at the clock... BAM! Laliberte nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Daren crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Daren is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
