Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Emanuel Rodrigez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jinx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emanuel Rodrigez had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigez shoots in for a double leg but Jinx sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jinx fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rodrigez, pushing him back against the cage.
Rodrigez tries for a takedown. No joy.

Jinx breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jinx drives through with a takedown into Rodrigez's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rodrigez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Jinx throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Rodrigez wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Rodrigez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jinx avoids it really well and circles away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jinx had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rodrigez defends it easily.

Jinx has his foot on Rodrigez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rodrigez works his way back into a safe position though.

Rodrigez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jinx works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Rodrigez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jinx stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rodrigez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Let's hope that Jinx has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Well Jinx has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
