Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Buckets (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Katsuya Yasumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yasumi has chosen Lunchmoney Lewis-Real Thing as his entrance music. Bobby Buckets has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Katsuya Yasumi!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckets misses with a body shot
and Yasumi counters with a nice body shot.

Yasumi is looking to take a break and control but Buckets is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Buckets has a hand on Yasumi's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Yasumi takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Yasumi lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Yasumi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Buckets is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Buckets throws a right hand that misses
and Yasumi counters with a right hand to the body.
Buckets throws out a loose jab but Yasumi uses good head movement to avoid it.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Buckets manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Buckets tries to work over Yasumi's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Yasumi lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Buckets dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Yasumi. That did some damage!

A bit of a pause in the action here. Yasumi controlling the positon.

Yasumi lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Yasumi.

And Yasumi tries to counter it with a takedown but Buckets pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Buckets tries to reverse the position but Yasumi maintains control.
Yasumi is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Buckets can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Yasumi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Buckets slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Yasumi is working for a submission of some sort.

Buckets has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Yasumi is on him like a limpet, forcing Buckets back against the cage.

Buckets escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Buckets is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Yasumi changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Yasumi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Buckets. Buckets obviously looking to wear him down.
Buckets tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Yasumi now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Yasumi shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Buckets will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Buckets wants to stand and escape but Yasumi is having none of it.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Yasumi. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Yasumi works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Still in half guard, Yasumi seems content to control.
Buckets tries to roll over but Yasumi keeps him under control.
Yasumi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Yasumi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Yasumi is taking a breather. Buckets says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Yasumi passes into side control, despite Buckets's attempt to control the position.

Yasumi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Buckets is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Buckets is looking for a sweep.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bobby Buckets.
I think Yasumi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
