The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eirikson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
It seemed like Eirikson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Eirikson missing with a left hand there. Whyte was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Eirikson cracks Whyte with an open hand slap.

Whyte has managed to clinch.
Whyte tries a body shot but Eirikson blocks it.
A short right from Whyte on the inside.
Whyte throws a head punch that misses.
Whyte tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Whyte misses with the head strike.
Whyte lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Eirikson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Eirikson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Whyte is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Whyte fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Nice body punch from Whyte.
A looping hook to the body misses from Whyte. Eirikson does a little dance to reset his feet.

The crowd cheers as Whyte lands an impressive looking overhand right. Eirikson doesn't seem phased though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Whyte digs a good body shot into Eirikson's ribs.

Whyte dives in for a single leg takedown but Eirikson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Whyte works Eirikson's body with a nice hook.
Whyte loads up on a big right hand but Eirikson slips the punch.
Eirikson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Eirikson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Whyte connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Eirikson scrambles back to his feet.
Whyte swings for the body but Eirikson moves out of range.
Whyte is looking to clinch.

Whyte connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Whyte lands with an uppercut that bounces Eirikson off the cage and back into range.
Eirikson connects with a body shot that sends Whyte's belly button to the back.
Whyte avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

and Eirikson counters with a nice right hand that sends Whyte toppling to the canvas! Whyte scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Eirikson finish him?!

It looks like Charlie Whyte has been cut.

and Eirikson counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Whyte out cold! What a finish! Eirikson is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
