PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keiichi Yamada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don T. Bill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bill. Don T. Bill struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Keiichi Yamada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don T. Bill!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yamada fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bill, pushing him back against the cage.
Yamada blocking some punches.

Bill tries a body shot but Yamada blocks it.
Bill wants a takedown but no success here.
Bill misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bill lands a nice shot to the body.

Yamada has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Yamada is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bill is not content to let Yamada control the position.

so Yamada counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Bill controls Yamada momentarily but Yamada frees himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yamada chips away with some ground and pound.

Bill has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yamada can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bill is nestled in close to Yamada, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Bill is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yamada is just riding it out for now. Bill eventually gives up the hold.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Yamada is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Don T. Bill showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Yamada feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

I would just about give that final round to Don T. Bill.
