Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlton Lassiter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jallu Pesonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pesonen has chosen DJ Orkidea - Joutsenlaulu as his entrance music. Jallu Pesonen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carlton Lassiter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jallu Pesonen!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pesonen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lassiter tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pesonen was well out of range. Poor timing from Lassiter.
Pesonen misses with a looping left.
A head kick from Pesonen lands but Lassiter takes it in his stride.
Lassiter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pesonen moves away.
Lassiter dives in and grabs Pesonen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pesonen pushes down on Lassiter's head and hops out.
Pesonen cracks Lassiter with a right hand to the side of the head.
Lassiter shoots in for a takedown but Pesonen shows good takedown defense.

Lassiter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Lassiter thows a huge punch but Pesonen dodges it nicely.
Pesonen has hold of Lassiter's hands but Lassiter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Pesonen has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've been hearing good reports from Lassiter's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Lassiter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pesonen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Lassiter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pesonen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lassiter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carlton Lassiter.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lassiter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
