The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gharibi has managed to clinch.
Peete tries to pull guard but Gharibi holds him up against the cage and eventually Peete drops back down to his feet.
Gharibi lands a body punch.
A short right from Gharibi on the inside.
Peete tries to score a body lock takedown but Gharibi shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Peete drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gharibi pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Booger Peete. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Peete fails to land the takedown.
Gharibi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Gharibi's coach down at Kangaroo's MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gharibi's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peete takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Peete is breathing heavily.

Gharibi clinches up with Peete and pushes him back against the cage.
Gharibi lands a left hand.
Gharibi makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Gharibi scores with a shoulder strike.
Gharibi works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Gharibi lands a right hand that snaps the head of Peete backwards.

Peete is rocked!
Gharibi throws a big uppercut that drops Peete! More strikes from Gharibi and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Peete lies dazed against the cage as Gharibi celebrates with his cornermen!
