PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Li Kong Ho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Li Kong Ho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Miller!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from Ho misses
and Miller counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Ho scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Miller doesn't seem bothered though.

Ho gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Miller to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ho pulls Miller in close to his closed guard and prevents Miller from doing any damage or advancing position.
Miller wants to pass the guard but Ho is keeping the position.
Ho has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ho is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Miller defends well.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Miller working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Miller scoring with strikes but Ho is staying in there.
Ho is in all sorts of trouble here.
Ho gets back to half guard.
Miller seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Ho tries to get to full guard but Miller has control of the leg.
Miller looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ho with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Miller drops an elbow to the side of Ho's head.

Ho is refusing to be controlled, as Miller sits in half guard.

Miller is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ho!
Miller looking to control but Ho is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Ho wants to hold on but Miller pushes him away.
Miller connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Miller looking to finish Ho with some ground and pound. This is bad for Ho!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ho is looking to improve his position but Miller isn't that keen on the idea.
Ho slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Miller wants to pass the guard but Ho is defending well.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ho misses with an uppercut
and Miller counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Nice body kick there by Miller.
Miller cracks the inside of Ho's front leg.
Ho fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Miller tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ho swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ho misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Miller.
Miller wants to counter the offense by Ho and move into the clinch position.
Miller jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Miller misses with a body kick.
Ho swings for the body but Miller moves out of range.
Miller connects with a leg kick. Ho looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Miller smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Ho ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ho connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Miller's hands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Miller fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ho, pushing him back against the cage.
Miller lands a body shot in the clinch.

Ho struggles to land a body shot inside as Miller controls his hands.

Ho tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Miller's elbow.
Miller lands a shoulder strike.
Miller doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Miller manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Miller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ho swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A close second round but Ben Miller will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Miller motions for Ho to come forward. Miller throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Left hook, right uppercut from Miller.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ho. Miller does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ho takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ho connects with a looping right hand.
Ho moves out of range of the body kick.
A head kick misses from Miller.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Miller.
A big left from Ho misses.
Ho throws a body shot but no joy.
Miller misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Ho counters with a right hand to the body.
Ben Miller seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ho misses the shot to the body.
Ho tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Miller was well out of range. Poor timing from Ho.
Miller tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Ho misses with a wild body shot.
Li Kong Ho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Miller throws a nice inside leg kick.

Miller shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Miller was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ho gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Ho is staying active underneath Miller, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ho is trying to get back to full guard.
Miller is taking a breather. Ho says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Miller works his way into side control.
Ho is looking for a sweep.
Li Kong Ho has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Miller passes to full mount!
Ho is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Miller uses his free foot to push down on Ho's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ho.
Ho tries to lock up and control but Miller gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Ben Miller is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Miller has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
