Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ronald Fredrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Skeng Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fredrick comes to the cage accompanied by Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz: Throw It Up. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ronald Fredrick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Skeng Man!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fredrick tries to close the distance and clinch up but Man swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Fredrick swings away with a body shot that misses

and Man decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fredrick's guard.
Man is looking to work some ground and pound but Fredrick has wrist control.
Man connects with a couple of short punches.

Fredrick has his foot on Man's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Man works his way back into a safe position though.
Man throwing strikes from guard but Fredrick blocks nicely.
Fredrick definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Man stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fredrick swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Man thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Man has gone for a leg lock! Fredrick slips out almost immediately though and dives into Man's guard.

Man has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fredrick got a little sloppy there for a moment and Man has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fredrick has managed to get both his arms back between Man's legs - danger averted.

Fredrick throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Man works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Man looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Man escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fredrick gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fredrick wants to stand but Man has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Man has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Fredrick is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Man will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Fredrick clinches with his opponent.
Man has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Fredrick after a bit of a struggle.
Ronald Fredrick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Skeng Man.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Man.
Fredrick gets underhooks to prevent Man's takedown attempt.
A nice left hand lands by Fredrick.

Man tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fredrick smiles and moves away.

Fredrick clinches up with Man and pushes him back against the cage.
Man tries to pull guard but Fredrick won't allow it.

Man turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You can see the frustration on Fredrick's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Man prevents Fredrick from escaping the position.

Man tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Man looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fredrick sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fredrick regains full guard. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ronald Fredrick will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Man gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Man avoids the elbow strike from Fredrick, against the cage.
Fredrick misses with some punches.
Fredrick using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Man has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Man drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Fredrick gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Man is trying to drag Fredrick to the mat but Fredrick just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Man has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Fredrick clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Man looking for the choke but no joy.
Fredrick is really stuck here.

Man is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Fredrick defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Fredrick turns into Man and is now in his guard.

Man keeping moving, preventing Fredrick from controlling successfully.

Man had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fredrick defends it easily.
Fredrick sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Man working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fredrick doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fredrick manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ronald Fredrick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Skeng Man.
Man has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fredrick avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Man shoots in and drives through. Fredrick sprawls well.
Fredrick fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Man has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fredrick stuffs the takedown.
Fredrick misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Man tries to counter by closing the distance.
Fredrick is looking to clinch.
Fredrick fails with an attempt to clinch.
Man is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Fredrick tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Man manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Man with the counter takedown but Fredrick avoids it easily.

and Man counters with a single leg into guard. Fredrick didn't expect that.
Fredrick bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Man's guard.

Man has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fredrick can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Fredrick keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Man's head.

Ronald Fredrick is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
