The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slayer closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Joe Smith has been cut.

Slayer connects with a single shot there.
Slayer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Slayer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Smith is looking for the big counter here.

Smith tries to break the clinch but Slayer is controlling the position.

Slayer connects with a good right hand that stumbles Smith. Smith circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Smith takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Slayer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Slayer counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

We've been informed that Smith has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Smith takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Slayer is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Slayer lands a really nice looking cross but Smith seems unphased.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Slayer feints a jab promting Smith to slip. Slayer then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Smith slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

and Slayer counters by clinching up.
Slayer misses with a punch to the body.
Smith has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Slayer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Slayer looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Slayer steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Smith.
Smith takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Slayer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smith.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oooooh!!! Slayer has knocked Smith down with a huge combo! Slayer steps away and waves a wobbly Smith back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Slayer ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Smith's jaw. Smith's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Slayer does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
