The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson connects with a single shot there.

It looks like Jean Yves Cachemaille has been cut.
Johnson throws an off balance right hand
and Cachemaille counters with a big head kick but Johnson shrugs it off.
Cachemaille connects with a body shot.
Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johnson swings for the body but Cachemaille moves out of range.
Cachemaille is looking to slow Johnson down with leg kicks.
Nice straight punches there by Cachemaille. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cachemaille.
Jean Yves Cachemaille seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cachemaille throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Johnson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Cachemaille clobbers Johnson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Johnson looks to score with a jab to the body but Cachemaille is just out of range.

Cachemaille lands a head kick. Johnson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like DeShawn Johnson has been cut.
Johnson throws a jab when Cachemaille was well out of range.
Johnson throws a hook but Cachemaille blocks it.
Cachemaille swings widly with a right hand
and Johnson counters with a right hand to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Johnson. Cachemaille does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cachemaille misses with the combination.
Johnson appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Cachemaille jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Johnson jabs Cachemaille right on the nose. Cachemaille blinks but takes it well.
Cachemaille is still on wobbly legs! Can Johnson finish him?
Johnson throws a jab but it's blocked by Cachemaille.
Cachemaille seems to have recovered his senses.

Cachemaille fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Johnson.
Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cachemaille has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Cachemaille there as he acknowledges the shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cachemaille pushes Johnson up against the cage in a clinch.
Cachemaille throws a punch but it's blocked by Johnson.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Johnson.
Johnson misses with a hook from the clinch.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson missing with a left hand there. Cachemaille was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Cachemaille slips a straight right by Johnson.
Cachemaille throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cachemaille lands a really nice looking cross but Johnson seems unphased.
Cachemaille throws a low kick but it's checked well by Johnson.
Cachemaille scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Cachemaille bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Johnson's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jean Yves Cachemaille will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Cachemaille is looking to land body kicks.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cachemaille.
Jean Yves Cachemaille seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Cachemaille.
Johnson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Johnson throws a leg kick which misses Cachemaille's front leg but catches the back leg as Cachemaille tries to avoid it.
Cachemaille throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.
Johnson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Johnson drops Cachemaille with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Cachemaille looks back up at him and smiles so Johnson waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Johnson throws a hook but Cachemaille blocks it.
Johnson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cachemaille was well out of range. Poor timing from Johnson.
Johnson walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Cachemaille drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Johnson swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Cachemaille's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
