PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Grin Ribber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomas Marley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ribber's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ay Ay Ay. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Grin Ribber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tomas Marley!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marley keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ribber works Marley's body with a nice hook.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Marley has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ribber throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Marley fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ribber checks it well.

Tomas Marley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Marley looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Grin Ribber will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

and Ribber counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Marley!

Ribber sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Marley is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Tomas Marley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Ribber remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Grin Ribber showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ribber, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Grin Ribber spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
