PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Marsden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noob Saibot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marsden comes to the cage accompanied by Feiticeira by Deftones. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 43 - 32 - 2, fighting out of London, Brandon Marsden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Noob Saibot!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsden misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Saibot looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Marsden looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Saibot swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Marsden swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Marsden feints and as Saibot raises his hands in defense, Marsden changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Saibot connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Marsden stuns Saibot with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Marsden lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Marsden tries to land a front kick but Saibot steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Marsden is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Saibot can do to turn this around?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marsden moves to clinch but Saibot breaks away
letting Saibot counter with a right hand.
Marsden is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Marsden backing away here, and Saibot unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Marsden moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Marsden lands with a good body shot.
Marsden dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Saibot. That did some damage!
Saibot throws a low kick but Marsden avoids it.
Marsden feinted there with a counter leg kick.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Marsden checks a leg kick.
Saibot takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Marsden darts in looking for a takedown but Saibot gets double underhooks and turns Marsden into the cage.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Marsden, as that shot connected.
Saibot takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Marsden dives in for a single leg takedown but Saibot sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Saibot steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brandon Marsden. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Marsden shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Saibot sprawls well. Saibot wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marsden gets slowly back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Saibot takes a jab right on the kisser.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Marsden takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Marsden uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Saibot.

Well Marsden has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
