Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawk has chosen Deadwood as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Peter Parker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Parker!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Thomas Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker cracks Hawk with a good jab.
Hawk finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A counter left hand to the body from Parker misses its target.
Hawk misses with a body shot.
Hawk has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Parker lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Peter Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hawk uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Parker.
Parker's corner calls for a 1-2. Parker obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Hawk is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Parker can't fight it off and eventually Hawk manages to take the fight to the floor. Parker looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hawk is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Parker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hawk's guard.

Hawk is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hawk is on top in guard.

Hawk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Parker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Parker seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Hawk postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hawk's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Parker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Parker has momentary wrist control but Hawk slips an elbow through the middle.
Hawk wants to pass the guard but Parker is keeping the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Hawk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Parker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Parker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hawk loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hawk throws a big elbow that misses.
Hawk sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Parker's guard.
Parker is trying to control but can't.
Hawk wants to advance to full mount but Parker doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Peter Parker will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

It looked like Parker wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Hawk closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Parker to the mat! Parker manages to get full guard.

Parker wriggles free and stands up.
Parker lands a nice hook to Hawk's body. Hawk takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Hawk doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
