Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between L Manning Hines and Takeya Aoki. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; L Manning Hines! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Takeya Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Phil Schofield and Sam Margolis.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Hines drives through and clinches with Aoki against the cage.
Aoki fails to pull guard.
Aoki jumps into guard, dragging Hines to the mat.
Hines trying to control the position from guard on top but Aoki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Aoki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hines gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Aoki has his foot on Hines's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hines works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aoki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hines doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hines manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hines slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hines drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Aoki dives on top into guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Hines (0) vs (2) Aoki
Hines seems keen to control Aoki's posture.
Aoki wants to control from the top but Hines keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aoki looking to improve position, pressing down on Hines's thigh with his hand. Hines seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Aoki paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Aoki's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Hines picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
