Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nelson Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Gilmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nelson Carpenter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Gilmore!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilmore swings for the body but Carpenter moves out of range.
Gilmore buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Carpenter lands a really nice looking cross but Gilmore seems unphased.
Carpenter shoots in and drives through. Gilmore sprawls well.
Carpenter uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gilmore.

Carpenter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gilmore is trying to defend but Carpenter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gilmore trying to control from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carpenter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Carpenter throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Carpenter is working for a submission of some sort.
Gilmore gets back to full guard.

Carpenter is in close to Gilmore's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Carpenter throwing strikes from guard but Gilmore blocks nicely.
Carpenter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gilmore has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Carpenter scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Carpenter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Carpenter throws a big right hand that misses.
Gilmore wants to stand but Carpenter is controlling the position.

Carpenter working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Carpenter could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gilmore wants to get back to his feet but Carpenter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Carpenter lands a couple of elbows.
Gilmore controls Carpenter momentarily but Carpenter frees himself.
Carpenter is in close to Gilmore's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Carpenter throws a big elbow that misses.
Carpenter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Carpenter with a nice head shot there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carpenter is working Gilmore over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Carpenter's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Gilmore manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Gilmore swings wildly with an uppercut but Carpenter uses good head movement to avoid it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gilmore tries for a takedown but Carpenter manages to get underhooks.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gilmore lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Carpenter jumps into guard, dragging Gilmore to the mat.
Gilmore looking to sit in guard and control but Carpenter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carpenter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gilmore utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Carpenter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Carpenter throws a big right hand that misses.
Carpenter scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Carpenter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Carpenter working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gilmore's head.
Gilmore is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Gilmore looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gilmore preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Carpenter lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Gilmore wriggles free and stands up.
Carpenter is looking to clinch.
A head kick from Gilmore lands but Carpenter takes it in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gilmore ducks under a wild hook from Carpenter.
Gilmore misses with a head kick.
Gilmore throws a head kick that misses.

Carpenter looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Gilmore!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nelson Carpenter dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Gilmore scores with a sloppy right hand. Carpenter should have avoided that one.
Gilmore throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Carpenter on the side of the head.
Carpenter misses with an uppercut.
Gilmore tries to counter by closing the distance.
Gilmore throws a head kick that misses.
Gilmore lands with a big left! Carpenter is wobbled badly! Gilmore comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Carpenter to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Anthony Gilmore!
During a confident post fight interview, Anthony Gilmore thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
