The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laliberte throws an off balance right hand
and Calabara counters with a series of strikes. Laliberte will be more careful next time no doubt.
Calabara misses with a looping right.
Calabara throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
It appears Laliberte was looking to counter with a kick there.
We've been told by Laliberte's head coaches at Gym Beam that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Calabara looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Calabara throws a nice looking combination but Laliberte bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Laliberte's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Calabara connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Laliberte scrambles back to his feet.

Calabara blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Laliberte lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Calabara backwards.
Laliberte swings wildly with an uppercut but Calabara uses good head movement to avoid it.
Calabara drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Laliberte gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Calabara has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Laliberte tries to keep at a distance but Calabara has taken the fight into the clinch.

Calabara's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Calabara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Calabara lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Laliberte lands a big head kick that sends Calabara tumbling to the mat! Laliberte takes a step backwards and waves Calabara back to his feet - he wants the finish!

That has opened up Carlos Calabara's cut even more.
Laliberte dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Calabara. That did some damage!
Calabara is still on wobbly legs! Can Laliberte finish him?
Laliberte cracks Calabara with a left hook right on the temple and Calabara goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Laliberte lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Calabara is OK!
