Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tristan Fenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aznar Thrul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fenix comes into the arena with For Heavy Metal we will die! blaring out of the sound system. Aznar Thrul has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fenix fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Fenix bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Thrul's head.
Fenix tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Thrul tries to counter by closing the distance.
Fenix uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Crunch! Thrul slams his shin into Fenix's torso.
Thrul shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fenix as he jumps to the side.
Fenix swings widly with a right hand
and Thrul counters with an outside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thrul walks into a jab.
Fenix loads up on a big right hand but Thrul slips the punch.
Fenix rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Thrul moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fenix is looking to clinch.
Fenix sets himself, and Thrul steps forward looking for the clinch! Fenix avoids it this time.

Fenix misses with a body shot.
Fenix with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Fenix shoots in but Thrul avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Thrul only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Tristan Fenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thrul on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Thrul pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fenix connects with a nice looking jab.
Fenix lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Fenix attempts a counter takedown but Thrul avoids it well and moves away.
Thrul uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fenix.

and Thrul holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Thrul misses with a shot to the kidneys.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fenix.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Fenix is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Thrul breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fenix dives in for a single leg takedown but Thrul sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Thrul tries for a takedown but Fenix sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fenix throws an overhand right that lands on Thrul's shoulder, as Thrul tries to avoid the shot.

Fenix connects with a jab.
Thrul throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Fenix counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Thrul checks a leg kick.
A little jabbing left from Thrul on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Fenix gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Thrul.
Thrul swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Thrul goes for a takedown attempt but Fenix pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Fenix tried to score with a low kick but Thrul checks it.
Fenix swings for the body but Thrul moves out of range.

Fenix bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The strikes coming from Fenix are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Fenix throwing strikes but Thrul manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fenix is looking for a sweep.

Thrul content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Fenix manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Fenix trying to control but Thrul postures up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Thrul lands a nice short elbow.

Thrul is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Tristan Fenix dominated that round.

Thrul shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Thrul lands with a nice body kick.
Fenix avoids the head kick by Thrul.

Thrul is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Thrul moves to clinch but Fenix breaks away
enabling Fenix to counter with a crisp jab.
Fenix throws a leg kick that is checked
and Thrul counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Thrul closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Fenix looking for submissions off his back.

Thrul wants to take a breather but Fenix is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thrul tries to pass the half guard into mount. Fenix knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Aznar Thrul has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Thrul is keen to just control but Fenix is a slippery customer.
Thrul tries to pass to full mount but Fenix defends it.
Fenix might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fenix regains full guard. Nicely done.

Thrul avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fenix trying to keep a closed guard but Thrul is proving a slippery customer.

Fenix looking for subs off his back but Thrul has passed one foot through into half guard.
Fenix has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Thrul is working away from the top position though.

Thrul slips a nice elbow through Fenix's hands, connecting with Fenix's forehead.

Thrul is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fenix defends it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Thrul moves nicely into side control.
Thrul landing strikes.
Fenix stops Thrul from passing to mount.
Fenix tries to bench press Thrul off him but Thrul keeps the position.
The ground and pound from Thrul seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fenix is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Aznar Thrul comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
