Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ruben Carballar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Hope!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carballar shoots in and bounces Hope off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Carballar forces his way into half guard.
Hope pushes Carballar off looking to stand but Carballar dives back in and keeps control.
Carballar tries to pass to full mount but Hope defends it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hope can do anything to dispel that myth.
Carballar passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hope!
Carballar won't let Hope get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carballar is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hope is surviving well by controlling Carballar's body position as best he can.
Hope is squirming around, avoiding Carballar's attempts to control the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Carballar has control of Hope's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hope regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Carballar is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hope to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hope shrugs it off.

Carballar is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Carballar!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ruben Carballar!
