The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deux fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've been told by Deux's head coaches at Fight Factory that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Deux takes one on the button.
Deux swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and De Vega counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Deux displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as De Vega throws out the jab.
Deux throws a body punch but De Vega moves out of range.
De Vega's jab looks to have found its range, popping Deux under the eye.
Deux misses with an uppercut.
Deux takes a jab right on the kisser.

Deux instigates a clinch.

It looks like Escobar De Vega has been cut.
De Vega doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Deux tries to work over De Vega's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Deux jumps guard and drags De Vega to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

De Vega tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no De Vega has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Deux is trying to control De Vega's posture but De Vega avoids it.
De Vega tries to score with some ground and pound. Deux controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Deux is looking to regain half guard here but De Vega keeps moving and retains side control.
Deux bucks up and tries to throw De Vega off but instead De Vega has got his back!

De Vega is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Deux defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
De Vega is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Deux. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

De Vega has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Deux has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Numero Deux was interviewed post fight and said 'Tell me when the fire dies down... What the F will you do?!?!'.
