Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerry Pounder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pounder comes to the cage accompanied by Gorgoroth - Open the Gates. Batista has chosen I Walk Alone as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerry Pounder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dave Batista!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Illya Tyunina and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Batista shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pounder is trying to defend but Batista finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Batista working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Batista wants to control but Pounder is keeping him busy.
