The crowd seem to be enjoying Von Lee's choice of entrance music: Day of Anger. Al Hallick had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hallick takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Von Lee has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Hallick throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Von Lee's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Hallick dives in looking to finish as Von Lee flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Hallick's strikes! Hallick is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Von Lee's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Von Lee was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
