PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Methyrr Dall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dall has chosen Outlaws as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Methyrr Dall!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dall swings widly with a right hand
and Hunt counters with a thumping low kick.
Hunt attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Hunt throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dall sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hunt scores with the left hand. Dall knows he should have avoided that one.


It looks like Methyrr Dall has been cut.
Dall throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Hunt misses with a series of wild punches.
Hunt walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunt misses with a body punch

and Dall counters with a single leg into guard. Hunt didn't expect that.
Hunt keeping full guard, as Dall tries to pass.

Dall postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hunt is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dall, into his guard.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunt trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hunt sitting in guard here, content to control.

Dall is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dall looking for a sweep. Not yet Dall, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dall can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hunt controls the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dall wants to sweep here but Hunt controlling him for the moment.

Dall escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hunt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hunt controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dall lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Dall looking to pass the guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dall sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hunt's guard.

Dall is trying to work for a kimura but Hunt is defending well.

Dall trying to work for an americana but Hunt has managed to regain full guard.
Hunt is looking to stand up but Dall isn't so interested in that idea.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dall looking to pass the guard.
Hunt trying to control the position.
Hunt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hunt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dall's guard.


Dall isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hunt stacks Dall on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hunt!
A lull in the action here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Matt Hunt will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Methyrr Dall's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Dall throws a jab but it's blocked by Hunt.
Hunt tried to score with a low kick but Dall checks it.
Hunt bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Hunt displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dall throws out the jab.
It looked like Hunt wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Dall takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Dall appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Dall.
Dall thows a left - swing and a miss!
Dall on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hunt. Hunt obviously looking to wear him down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunt drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


It looks like Matt Hunt has been cut.
Dall tries to work over Hunt's front leg with a kick but Hunt checks it.
Dall looks to throw a body kick
and Hunt counters with a stiff right hand.
Dall looks to land a right hand but Hunt moved out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunt scores with a jab.
Hunt lands with a nice body punch.
A jab from Dall misses.
Hunt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
An inside leg kick from Dall misses.

Hunt catches Dall napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Dall to the canvas!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dall is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Dall looking for a submission but Hunt manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Dall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dall trying to move into half guard but instead Hunt has managed to sweep!

Hunt not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Dall wants to sweep here but Hunt controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dall looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Dall has his foot on Hunt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hunt works his way back into a safe position though.
Hunt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dall can do to turn this around?

Hunt seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Dall is looking for a triangle here but Hunt uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Hunt has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Hunt prevents Dall from getting the reversal.
Hunt controlling from the full mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dall is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hunt controlling from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Hunt dominated that second round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Dall misses with an uppercut. Hunt saw that one coming.
It appears Hunt was looking to counter with a kick there.
Dall lands with a shot to the body.
Dall wants to land a leg kick but Hunt is out of range.
Hunt throws a shot from downtown. Dall moves away and avoids it.
Dall moves out of range of the strikes.
Hunt lands a really nice looking cross but Dall seems unphased.
Hunt lands with a hook. Dall tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


That has opened up Methyrr Dall's cut even more.
Methyrr Dall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dall turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunt scores with a jab to the head.
Dall on the wrong end of a nice jab.


Dall is rocked!
An inside leg kick lands from Hunt.
Dall is still on wobbly legs! Can Hunt finish him?
Hunt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dall.
Dall thows a leg kick but Hunt checks it
and Hunt counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Matt Hunt!
Matt Hunt decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
