Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mason Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshall comes to the cage accompanied by Freaks and Geeks - By: Childish Gambino. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mason Marshall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Troy Powers!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Marshall.
Powers thuds a left hand into Marshall's body.
Marshall is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Powers.
Powers lands a right hook to the body.

Marshall swings wildly with an uppercut but Powers uses good head movement to avoid it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Marshall seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Powers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Powers bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Marshall's head backwards.

Marshall jabs Powers to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Marshall is trying hard to land a takedown here. Powers sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Marshall fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Powers looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Powers throws out a counter right but Marshall avoids it with no problem.
Powers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marshall manages to avoid it.
Marshall cracks Powers with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Powers fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Marshall is out of range.
Marshall moves into range and connects with a jab.
Powers throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Marshall sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Marshall jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Powers throws a hook but Marshall avoids it easily.
It looked like Marshall was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Powers misses with a two punch combination.
Mason Marshall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marshall throws a lazy right hand but Powers sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Powers doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Powers is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Well Marshall has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
