The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson Jr lands an overhand right.

Anderson Jr changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tolentino looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Anderson Jr controls the position.

Anderson Jr tries for a kimura but Tolentino is defending well.
Tolentino knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Anderson Jr on the ground.

Tolentino on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tolentino tries to get out of the position.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Anderson Jr working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Anderson Jr is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Tolentino has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Anderson Jr has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Tolentino taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Anderson Jr doesn't care though - he's delighted!

During a confident post fight interview, Apollo Anderson Jr thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
