The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell fails in his attempt to clinch.

and Mitchell counters with a left and a right that stings Obrien.

Obrien looks to land a left hand but Mitchell moved out of range nicely.
Mitchell is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

and Obrien takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

enabling Mitchell to counter with a crisp jab.
Mitchell definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Obrien fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mitchell sprawls well initially but Obrien persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Obrien is looking to stall here but Mitchell recovers full guard.

Obrien throws an elbow that misses. Mitchell uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Obrien's guard. Nice move by Mitchell!

Obrien is looking for a sweep. Mitchell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mitchell tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Mitchell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Obrien with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
