Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Ysengrin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ysengrin comes to the cage accompanied by Cheeky Nandos. Dave Ysengrin could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hank Holmes's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes tries to bum rush Ysengrin with a series of wild strikes but Ysengrin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ysengrin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Mello MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Holmes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Holmes walks into a straight right hand from Ysengrin.

Holmes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Holmes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ysengrin moves away.
It looked like Ysengrin was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Holmes.
Holmes uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ysengrin.

Holmes throws the left hand but Ysengrin avoids the punch easily.

Holmes feints and as Ysengrin raises his hands in defense, Holmes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Holmes tries to free his leg and advance position but Ysengrin is retaining full guard.
Holmes passes Ysengrin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Ysengrin wants to get back to his feet.

Holmes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ysengrin is just riding it out for now. Holmes eventually gives up the hold.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Holmes is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Ysengrin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Holmes on the ground.

Ysengrin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Holmes is working away from the top position though.

Holmes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Holmes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ysengrin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ysengrin dips to his left and cracks Holmes with an uppercut!
Holmes slips a jab from Ysengrin.
Holmes misses the jab.
Ysengrin cracks Holmes with an open hand slap.
Ysengrin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Holmes.
Holmes misses with a double jab.
A jab from Ysengrin finds it's way through Holmes's defenses.
Donk. Ysengrin catches Holmes right on the button with a cross.
Ysengrin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Holmes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ysengrin was covering up waiting for the punch and Holmes finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Ysengrin pushes Holmes off and scrambles back to his feet.
Holmes throws out a loose jab but Ysengrin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ysengrin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Ysengrin lands with a kick to the temple. Holmes shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dave Ysengrin will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Holmes takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Holmes throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Holmes takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Holmes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Ysengrin connects with a crisp jab.
Holmes throws a right hand that Ysengrin ducks under and follows up with a left that Ysengrin also avoids with ease.
Ysengrin throws a big counter combination but Holmes scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Holmes is rocked!
Ysengrin lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Holmes falls backwards - clearly groggy! Ysengrin dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

After the fight, Dave Ysengrin was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
