PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dancing Dave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damiao Marcos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Dancing Dave!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Damiao Marcos!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcos wants to slow Dave down by chopping away at his legs.
Dave feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Dave has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Marcos.
Dave walks into a jab.

Marcos closes the distance and pushes Dave back into the cage.
Marcos is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Marcos lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Dave tries to land a knee to the head but Marcos blocks with his arms.
Dave lands a left hand that snaps the head of Marcos backwards.
Dave using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Marcos has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Marcos is working Dave over against the cage.

Marcos wants the takedown. Dave is fighting it off but Marcos persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Dave's guard against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Marcos keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dave's head.
Marcos with a flurry of punches that miss.
Marcos postures up in Dave's guard and throws a big left but Dave blocks it.
Dave preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Marcos drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Marcos seems to have locked his on tight now - Dave screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Marcos, as he picks up the win!
