Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yuki Takano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yaniv Schulmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Yuki Takano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yaniv Schulmann!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takano throws a quick inside leg kick.
Takano swings widly with a right hand
and Schulmann connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Schulmann, right into the meat.
Schulmann avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Schulmann misses the shot to the body.
Schulmann cracks Takano with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Takano throws a body shot but no joy.
A countering left hand to the body from Schulmann misses.
Schulmann takes a swing at Takano's ribcage but misses.
Takano throws a front kick aimed at Schulmann's knee but Schulmann avoids it well.

Schulmann appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Takano throws a right hand that Schulmann ducks under and follows up with a left that Schulmann also avoids with ease.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Schulmann drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Takano defends it well.

It seemed like Schulmann was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Takano has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Schulmann.

Yuki Takano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yaniv Schulmann.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Schulmann is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Schulmann shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Takano as he jumps to the side.

Schulmann's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Schulmann uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Takano.

Schulmann sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Oh Takano is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Schulmann looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

and Schulmann counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Yaniv Schulmann has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Schulmann ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Takano moves away.
Takano tries to close the distance and clinch up but Schulmann swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Takano feints and then cracks Schulmann's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Schulmann down.

and Schulmann counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Takano!
Schulmann wants to lay and pray for a moment but Takano keeps working.
Takano wants to get back to his feet but Schulmann drags him back down.

Schulmann in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Takano looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Schulmann turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

After winning the bout, Yaniv Schulmann thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
