PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Castle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saif Swaleh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 21 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Castle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Saif Swaleh!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy left from Castle finds it's target.

Castle tries to keep at a distance but Swaleh has taken the fight into the clinch.

Castle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Castle moves into range and connects with a jab.
Swaleh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Castle paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Swaleh staying out of range there.
Castle lands a glancing blow to the side of Swaleh's head.
Swaleh slips under a jab from Castle.
Castle fails to land with a series of punches.

Swaleh drives through and clinches with Castle against the cage.
Swaleh throws an elbow that misses.
A head punch on the inside from Swaleh fails to land.
Swaleh scores with an uppercut up the middle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Swaleh tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Castle just stands there and leans against the cage.
Swaleh pushes Castle back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Swaleh tries to land a knee to the head but Castle blocks with his arms.
Swaleh working some nice short punches in the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Swaleh.
Swaleh jumps guard but Castle stands there with Swaleh around his waist. Swaleh gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Swaleh is trying to pull guard but Castle has him pressed against the cage.
Frank Castle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saif Swaleh.
Swaleh working aggressively here.
Swaleh swings wildly with an uppercut but Castle uses good head movement to avoid it.
Castle has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A head punch on the inside from Swaleh fails to land.
Swaleh comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Swaleh has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Castle avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Swaleh is working for takedown but Castle is calmly controlling the position for now.
Castle is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Swaleh scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Swaleh tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Castle blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Castle is trying to break free.
Castle blocks an uppercut.
Swaleh throws a punch but it's blocked by Castle.
Castle gets underhooks to prevent Swaleh's takedown attempt.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Swaleh creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Swaleh prevents Castle from breaking the clinch.

Castle wants to break the clinch but can't.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Swaleh.

Castle breaks the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Castle lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Castle drops Swaleh with a right and a left! Castle comes rushing in but Swaleh regains his composure and manages to keep Castle in guard.


It looks like Saif Swaleh has been cut.
Castle has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Swaleh is proving hard to escape from.
Swaleh wants to stand up but Castle is controlling him.
Swaleh looks winded!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Castle tries to stand but Swaleh is controlling from the bottom.

Castle stands up from Swaleh's guard - Castle perhaps looking for a knockout.
Swaleh shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Frank Castle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Castle misses with a double jab.
Castle lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Castle lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Swaleh is looking to close the distance but Castle sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Swaleh crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Swaleh is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Frank Castle!
In defeat, Saif Swaleh stepped up to the mic, saying 'This guy is crazy, he fights like a champ. I tried to knock him down but he wasn't going down, and his face was licking blood but he was still infront of my face. This guy is a champ and he needs a tittle shot!!!! Sorry to all my fans!!!!'.
