Vachon has chosen Mad Dog Tribute as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castillo throws a leg kick but Vachon sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Vachon looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Ricardo Castillo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Castillo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Vachon shoots for a takedown but Castillo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Vachon throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Castillo takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Castillo throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Vachon.

Vachon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Castillo.

Castillo moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Castillo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vachon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Castillo feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Vachon's calf.
Vachon misses with the combination.
Castillo dips to his left and cracks Vachon with an uppercut!

That has opened up Maurice Vachon's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vachon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Castillo swivels and escapes.
Vachon takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Vachon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Vachon throws out a counter right but Castillo avoids it with no problem.

A slapping leg kick lands for Castillo.
Vachon lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Castillo backs up against the cage.
The fighters circle momentarily. Castillo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A jab from Vachon misses.
Castillo fires out a quick counter leg kick but Vachon just manages to avoid it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vachon is defended easily by Castillo.
Ricardo Castillo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maurice Vachon.
Castillo blocks a jab.
Castillo throws a hook but Vachon blocks it.
Vachon just misses with a punch to the body.

Castillo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vachon sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Castillo is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Castillo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vachon moves away.
Vachon lands with an overhand left.
Vachon avoids a kick to the body.
Vachon now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Castillo, as that shot connected.

The cut above Maurice Vachon's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Castillo takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jab, jab by Castillo - just one landing.
Vachon throws a looping overhand right but Castillo ducks down to avoid it.
Castillo fails in his attempt to clinch.
Vachon throws out a counter right but Castillo avoids it with no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Castillo throws a right and a left that Vachon avoids nicely.
Castillo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vachon can do to turn this around?
Vachon blocks the body kick.

A little jabbing left from Vachon on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Castillo lands a big head kick that sends Vachon tumbling to the mat! Castillo takes a step backwards and waves Vachon back to his feet - he wants the finish!
