Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kendrik Down (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenith Jenova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Down might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Let's Go. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kendrik Down!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kenith Jenova!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Down misses with a hook to the body
and Jenova counters with a low kick, right behind Down 's knee.

Down shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Down showed some decent athleticism there.
Down is nestled in close to Jenova, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jenova is trying to get back to full guard.
Jenova keeps trying to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jenova tries to keep at a distance but Down has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jenova misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Jenova has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Down regains guard immediately.

Down manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Down goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A head punch on the inside from Jenova fails to land.

Jenova tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Down's elbow.
Down is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Jenova is pressed up against the cage. Down has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jenova down to the mat. Jenova avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jenova lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jenova's corner calls for a 1-2. Jenova obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

It looks like Kendrik Down has been cut.
Jenova takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Down misses with a hook. Jenova ducked under it nicely.
Jenova steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Down throws a lazy right hand but Jenova sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jenova looks to land a left hand but Down moved out of range nicely.
Down scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Jenova digs a good hook to Down's body.
Jenova connects with a body shot that sends Down's belly button to the back.
Kenith Jenova is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jenova wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kendrik Down will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Jenova connects with a jab.
Down attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Jenova throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Down is rocked!
Jenova steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Down.
Jenova slips under a jab from Down.
Jenova bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Down's head backwards.
Oh Down is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jenova enables Down to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jenova manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Jenova is trying to control the position but Down postures up.
Down seems to have got his legs back now.
Jenova pulls Down in close to his closed guard and prevents Down from doing any damage or advancing position.

Down tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jenova swivels and escapes.
Jenova bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Down's head.

Down gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Down has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jenova is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

A frustrated look appears on Jenova's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Nice body punch from Jenova - that landed with a thud.
Down has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Jenova after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kendrik Down. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jenova is pressed up against the cage. Down has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jenova down to the mat. Jenova avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jenova cracks Down with an open hand slap.
Down wants to clinch but Jenova slips to the side
and Jenova counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Down out cold! What a finish! Jenova is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
