Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Impish Halfman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benjamin Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benjamin Brooks has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Benjamin Brooks!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks throws a low kick but Halfman avoids it.
Halfman throws out a loose jab but Brooks uses good head movement to avoid it.
Brooks bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Brooks shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Halfman as he jumps to the side.
Halfman swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A slow jab from Halfman misses its intended target.
Brooks shoots in but no luck this time.
Brooks slips under a jab from Halfman.
Brooks throws a nice looking combination but Halfman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brooks shoots in for a takedown but Halfman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Impish Halfman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benjamin Brooks.

Halfman is pressed up against the cage. Brooks has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Halfman down to the mat. Halfman avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Halfman counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Brooks thinking.

Brooks tries to clinch there but Halfman circles away.

Benjamin Brooks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brooks shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Halfman but Halfman pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Halfman enables Brooks to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Halfman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Halfman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brooks on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Brooks drops back looking for a leg! Halfman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Halfman manages to kick Brooks off! Brooks jumps back into Halfman's guard.
Halfman is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Halfman has momentary wrist control but Brooks slips an elbow through the middle.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Brooks fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Halfman was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Halfman connects with a crisp jab.

and Brooks counters with a left and a right that stings Halfman.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Halfman scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Brooks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Halfman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A quick step to the side and Halfman tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Impish Halfman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Halfman throws the left hand but Brooks avoids the punch easily.
Brooks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Halfman swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Brooks is rocked!
Brooks glances at the clock... BAM! Halfman nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Brooks crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Brooks is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
