Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Gower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lu Wai Ping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wai Ping is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Once upon a time in China. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lu Wai Ping!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wai Ping fails with a takedown attempt.
We've been told by Gower's head coaches at Ryōzanpaku Dojo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Wai Ping shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gower napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gower is being controlled here.
Wai Ping has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Wai Ping moves into the clinch.
Wai Ping throws a knee to the head but misses.
Wai Ping looking to throw knees to the head but Gower is blocking nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wai Ping is stalling here.
Wai Ping using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gower has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Gower lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Gower swings wildly with an uppercut but Wai Ping uses good head movement to avoid it.

Wai Ping throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Gower blocks it with crossed arms.

Wai Ping has clasped his hands together around Gower's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Gower throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Wai Ping throws a series of punches but Gower avoids them all with ease.
Wai Ping tries to clinch up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wai Ping.
Gower scores with a jab. Wai Ping acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
It looks like Lu Wai Ping has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wai Ping doesn't manage to clinch there - Gower circles away.
Wai Ping shoots for a takedown but Gower saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jeff Gower has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lu Wai Ping.
Wai Ping dives in and grabs Gower's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gower pushes down on Wai Ping's head and hops out.
Gower lands a big head kick that sends Wai Ping tumbling to the mat! Gower takes a step backwards and waves Wai Ping back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Wai Ping is rocked!
Gower tries a head kick but it misses.
Wai Ping is still on wobbly legs! Can Gower finish him?
Gower is stalking Wai Ping. Wai Ping circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Gower, and it's lights out! Wai Ping really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jeff Gower!
A very excited looking Jeff Gower made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
