The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ranky Scorpion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sammich is pressing down on Scorpion's thigh, looking to free his foot. Scorpion is holding on for now.

Scorpion has his foot on Sammich's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sammich works his way back into a safe position though.

and Sammich counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Sammich bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Sammich throws out a loose jab but Scorpion uses good head movement to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sammich steps in with a hook that catches Scorpion right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Sammich follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Scorpion looks absolutely devastated.
