Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harry Winston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kalle Kullervo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Winston kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Lost Boy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kullervo connects with a crisp jab.
Winston on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Kullervo pushes Winston up against the cage in a clinch.
Winston tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kullervo just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kullervo is pressed up against the cage. Winston has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kullervo down to the mat. Kullervo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Winston tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kullervo was well out of range. Poor timing from Winston.
Kullervo throws a counter combo.
Winston lands a slapping body shot.
Winston shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kullervo defends it nicely.
We've been hearing reports that Winston has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winston shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kullervo sprawls well. Kullervo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Winston gets slowly back to his feet.

Winston tries to free his leg and advance position but Kullervo is retaining full guard.

Kullervo is looking to stand up but Winston isn't so interested in that idea.

Winston got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kullervo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Winston has managed to get both his arms back between Kullervo's legs - danger averted.

Kullervo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Winston passes Kullervo's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Winston lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Winston lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Kullervo wants to control but Winston is keeping busy.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Winston lands a nice short elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Winston wants to work for an arm triangle but Kullervo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kullervo can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Winston winds up and cracks Kullervo with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Winston is nestled in close to Kullervo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
