Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Longworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lin Shui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vinnie Longworth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lin Shui!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Shui. Beautiful body shot.
Shui throws a shot from downtown. Longworth moves away and avoids it.

Shui scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Shui trying to control the position but Longworth is working away.
Shui fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Shui working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shui working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Shui controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Longworth regains half guard.
Shui wants to control but Longworth is keeping him busy.

Longworth is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shui pulls his head out easily.
Longworth lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

Shui passes to side control.
Longworth is trying to improve his position.
Longworth is trying to escape the position but Shui is controlling the position.

Shui creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Shui lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Shui wants to lay and pray for a moment but Longworth keeps working.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Shui working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Longworth manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Shui works his way to full guard. Good work.

Shui makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Longworth seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Shui got a little sloppy there for a moment and Longworth has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shui has managed to get both his arms back between Longworth's legs - danger averted.
Shui postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Longworth has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shui can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Shui slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lin Shui dominated that round.

Shui looks for a takedown but Longworth sprawls well.
Longworth tries to counter by clinching up but Shui breaks away and moves out of range.
Shui tried to score with a low kick but Longworth checks it.
Longworth misses with a straight right.
Lin Shui is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Shui uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Longworth.
Shui takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

and Longworth counters with a left and a right that stings Shui.
Shui tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Longworth swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Longworth lands a glancing blow to the side of Shui's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shui bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Longworth thows a body kick. Shui tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Shui tries to work over Longworth's front leg with a kick but Longworth checks it.
Shui throws a head kick but Longworth moves out of range.
Shui throws a series of punches but Longworth moves out of range.
Longworth jabs at Shui's body.
Shui has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Longworth misses with a body shot.
Longworth tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shui lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Shui gets caught napping as Longworth dives in and scores a takedown. Shui manages to retain guard.
Longworth is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Shui is rocked!
Longworth keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shui's head.
Shui is still in real trouble! Can Longworth finish him?
Shui has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Longworth gets to his feet and stands over Shui, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Shui felt that one! Longworth unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Shui from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vinnie Longworth!
Vinnie Longworth decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
The defeated Lin Shui had this to say: 'No worries. Everyone knows my opponent here has a very bad habit of testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, so I'm confident this fight will soon be ruled a 'No-Contest.''.
