Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Sudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Gero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nathan Gero is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Sudo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Gero!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Sudo with that takedown attempt.
Sudo shoots for a takedown but Gero saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sudo shoots and misses
and Gero counters with a one-two to the body.
Gero has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sudo is landing a low percentage of strikes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Sudo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sudo feints and as Gero raises his hands in defense, Sudo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sudo throws a strike aimed at the side of Gero's head but Gero avoids it well.
Gero takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Sudo has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sudo cracks Gero with a big elbow.
Gero is still in real trouble! Can Sudo finish him?
Gero takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Sudo scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Gero is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Sudo can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Sudo!
A relieved looking Dan Sudo thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
