The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hobson takes a swing at Myres's ribcage but misses.
Hobson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Hobson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Myres moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Hobson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hobson lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Hobson lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Myres working hard to break the clinch.

Myres tries to break free but Hobson pushes him back against the cage.

I was talking to Hobson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Hobson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hobson lands a nice looking body shot.
Hobson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Myres.
Myres takes a swing at Hobson's ribcage but misses.
Hobson lands a lovely overhand right.
Hobson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hobson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hobson punishes Myres's body with a nice straight punch.
Hobson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Myres.
Hobson connects with a single shot there.
Myres throws a shot from downtown. Hobson moves away and avoids it.
Hobson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Hobson lands a jab to Myres's midsection.
Myres is still on wobbly legs! Can Hobson finish him?
Hobson drops Myres with a straight right hand, right on the button! Hobson follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mitchell Hobson!
Our winner, Mitchell Hobson, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
Rob Myres was interviewed post fight and said 'Sorry for crappy performance tonight guys, I'll be back better than ever next time out '.
