Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexei Chernokov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Satoru Takada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chernokov comes to the cage accompanied by Disaster strikes - Mushroom cloud. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alexei Chernokov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoru Takada!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chernokov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chernokov misses with an uppercut.
Chernokov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Chernokov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Takada.
Chernokov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Takada feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Chernokovs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chernokov misses with a combination
and Takada counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Chernokov misses the shot to the body.
Chernokov throws a lazy right hand but Takada sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Chernokov connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Takada's hands.
Chernokov throws a looping overhand right but Takada ducks down to avoid it.
Takada is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Chernokov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Chernokov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

and Chernokov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Takada takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Takada counters with a straight right hand.

Chernokov closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Takada's guard.
Chernokov wants to control from the top but Takada keeps moving.

Chernokov is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Takada's shoulder. That is not cool.

Chernokov slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Takada won't allow Chernokov to sweep him here.
Chernokov lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Chernokov passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Takada is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Chernokov off and has taken his back!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Chernokov tries to break free.
Takada doesn't have the hooks in and Chernokov manages to turn into his guard.

Chernokov stands up over Takada, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takada has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Alexei Chernokov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chernokov fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Takada fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Takada takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Takada cracks Chernokov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Chernokov loads up on a big right hand but Takada slips the punch.
Chernokov's jab looks to have found its range, popping Takada under the eye.
Satoru Takada seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Chernokov is pressing down on Takada's thigh, looking to free his foot. Takada is holding on for now.

Chernokov slips a nice elbow through Takada's hands, connecting with Takada's forehead.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Takada can do anything to dispel that myth.
Chernokov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Takada with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Takada wants to improve his position but Chernokov is controlling well.
Takada has hold of Chernokov's hands but Chernokov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Nice strikes from Chernokov there.
Chernokov working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Chernokov postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Takada in real trouble here! The ref calls for Takada to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexei Chernokov!
