Liddell comes to the cage accompanied by 50 Cent - Animal. Zach Makovsky has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Brock Liddell 's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zach Makovsky!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Phil Schofield and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Liddell manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Makovsky is trying to control the action in half guard but Liddell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Makovsky winds up and cracks Liddell with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Makovsky working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Liddell enables Makovsky to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Liddell manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Makovsky takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Makovsky lands a glancing blow to the side of Liddell 's head.
Oh Liddell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Makovsky lands a huge takedown. Liddell is out but the ref is slow to react and Makovsky lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Liddell lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.

Zach Makovsky decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
