Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dancing Dave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cale Downes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Dancing Dave!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cale Downes!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Downes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dave looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Downes stands up and beckons Dave to his feet.

Downes dives in and scores a takedown into Dave's guard.
Downes stands up over Dave, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Downes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Downes wants to control from the top but Dave keeps moving.

Downes has gone for a leg lock! Dave slips out almost immediately though and dives into Downes's guard.

Downes wants to sweep here but Dave controlling him for the moment.

Downes has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Dave is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Downes manages to break the clinch.
Dave displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Downes.
Dave throws a quick counter kick to the body but Downes avoids it.
Dave explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Dave throws a quick inside leg kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Downes is defended easily by Dave.

Dave ducks right into an uppercut from Downes.
Dave ducks under a wild hook from Downes.
Dave misses with a kick to the body.
Downes is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

As Downes backs away, Dave returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Dancing Dave has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cale Downes.
Downes shoots in for a takedown but Dave shows good takedown defense.
Dave thows a left - swing and a miss!

Downes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Downes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dave tries to get to full guard but Downes has control of the leg.
Downes is looking to take a break and control but Dave is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Downes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dave sees it coming and defends easily.

Downes is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Downes wants to take a breather but Dave is having none of it.

Downes is looking for a kimura but Dave is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Downes to get the leverage.
Downes seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cale Downes dominated that round.
That's time! Dave's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Downes closes the distance and clinches up with Dave, looking for a takedown. Downes pushes Dave against the cage but Dave circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Downes.
Dave throws a half hearted mid kick.
Dave throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A nice leg kick lands there from Dave.
Downes throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Dave lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Downes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Downes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dave sprawls well. Dave wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Downes gets slowly back to his feet.
Dancing Dave has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cale Downes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dave lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Downes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dave is fending him off so far but Downes persists. Nope, Dave circles away and we're back to standing.
Dave lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Downes closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dave's guard.

Downes drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Downes seems to have locked his on tight now - Dave screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Downes, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Cale Downes!
Cale Downes took to the microphone after his victory and thanked his sponsors, Bloodlust Horde Fightwear for their support in the buildup to the fight.
