Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ury Dikunov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heavy Rain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rain has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ury Dikunov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heavy Rain!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rain drives through and clinches with Dikunov against the cage.
Dikunov drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rain gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Dikunov is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rain can't fight it off and eventually Dikunov manages to take the fight to the floor. Rain looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dikunov postures up in Rain's guard and throws a big left but Rain blocks it.
We've been hearing that Dikunov has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Dikunov is looking to work some ground and pound but Rain has wrist control.

Rain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dikunov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dikunov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dikunov stands up over Rain, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Dikunov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rain controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Rain tries to free his leg and advance position but Dikunov is retaining full guard.
Rain must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Dikunov can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rain controls the pace.
Rain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dikunov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dikunov seems keen to control Rain's posture.
Rain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dikunov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dikunov doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rain trying to control but Dikunov is working from the bottom.
Dikunov pulls Rain in close to his closed guard and prevents Rain from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Dikunov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rain sprawls well. Rain wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dikunov gets slowly back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rain stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rain wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ury Dikunov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rain scores with a head kick.


It looks like Ury Dikunov has been cut.
Rain fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ury Dikunov will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Rain lands with a hook. Dikunov tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Nice body kick from Rain.
Dikunov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rain tries to avoid it but Dikunov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rain to the ground. Rain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dikunov tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rain defends well and Dikunov ends up having to push Rain into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rain throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Dikunov crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Heavy Rain!
Heavy Rain bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
