Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Hector Davis and Brian Burns. Burns comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rock Master Scott & The Dynamic Three - The Roof Is On Fire kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Hector Davis! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 2 losses; Brian Burns!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Davis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Burns swivels and escapes.

Burns has Davis up against the cage in a clinch.

Davis pulls guard effortlessly.
Burns controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Davis pulls Burns in close to his closed guard and prevents Burns from doing any damage or advancing position.

We've been hearing good reports from Davis's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Burns escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Davis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davis wants to pass the guard but Burns is defending well.
Burns is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Burns is trying to maintain the position but Davis is very close to passing his half guard.

Davis seems to be looking for submissions.

Davis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Davis is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Burns to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Burns shrugs it off.

Davis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Burns is just riding it out for now. Davis eventually gives up the hold.
Burns moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Burns is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Burns is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Davis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Burns.

Davis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Burns has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Davis has managed to get both his arms back between Burns's legs - danger averted.
Burns has control of Davis's left arm, preventing Davis from doing any damage.

Davis stands and throws Burns's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Davis swings around for an armbar but Burns sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Davis's guard.

Davis tries to reverse the position but Burns maintains control.
Burns wants to control the pace but Davis is squirming around nicely.
Burns can't control as he wanted to and Davis manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Burns is just content to waste time from the top position. Davis takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Davis takes the fight on points by 12 to 9.
A very excited looking Hector Davis rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Brian Burns was interviewed post fight and said 'Hats off to my opponent. He was better tonight. I hope we meet again in the future.'.
