Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Will (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masaaki Kanagawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Will comes to the cage accompanied by Cheeseburger In Paradise. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jeffrey Will!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Masaaki Kanagawa!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Will tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kanagawa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Will somewhat.
Kanagawa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kanagawa takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Will takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


It looks like Jeffrey Will has been cut.
Kanagawa dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Will tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kanagawa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Will looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Will closes the distance looking to clinch
and Kanagawa counters with a nice uppercut.
Will tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Will connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Will clinches up with Kanagawa and pushes him back against the cage.
Kanagawa is trying to force a seperation but Will has the dominant position.

Kanagawa tries to circle away but Will has him pinned against the cage.
Will changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kanagawa fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Will tries to clinch there but Kanagawa circles away.
Kanagawa throws a big shot that misses.

Kanagawa misses with a wild combination.
Kanagawa has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Will closes the distance and pushes Kanagawa back into the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Kanagawa.
Kanagawa lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Kanagawa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Will has a takedown stuffed.
As Will backs off Kanagawa throws a huge counter combo but Will manages to avoid it all.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeffrey Will. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Will tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Will looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Will has his takedown stuffed
and Kanagawa counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Will shoots and misses
and Kanagawa counters with a three punch combo that has Will backing up. Will nods at Kanagawa to acknowledge the strikes.
Will is breathing heavily.
Will doesn't manage to clinch there - Kanagawa circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kanagawa throws a shot from downtown. Will moves away and avoids it.
Kanagawa throws a big shot that misses.
Jeffrey Will seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A lazy left from Kanagawa finds it's target.
Will closes the distance but Kanagawa moves to the side
and Kanagawa cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


Will is rocked!
A punch combination from Kanagawa misses.
Kanagawa throws a body punch but Will moves out of range.

Kanagawa sends Will crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Kanagawa is motioning to the referee to let Will up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Oh Will is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!


Jeffrey Will's cut is getting worse.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Will rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kanagawa counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Masaaki Kanagawa!
