Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shoei Braz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Bangsit!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bangsit scores with a takedown into Braz's guard.
Braz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Bangsit drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Braz dives on top into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Braz looking to pass the guard.
Braz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bangsit is looking for a triangle but Braz pushes his legs off easily.
Braz wants to pass the guard but Bangsit is keeping the position.

Bangsit had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Braz defends it easily.

Bangsit looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bangsit is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Braz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bangsit is keeping the position for now.
Braz has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Braz advances position into side control!
Bangsit is looking to regain half guard here but Braz keeps moving and retains side control.

Braz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Braz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Bangsit manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Braz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bangsit is just riding it out for now. Braz eventually gives up the hold.

Braz wants to work for an arm triangle but Bangsit is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Bangsit is looking to control Braz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bangsit avoid being mounted?
Bangsit works his way to full guard. Good work.

Braz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Bangsit has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Braz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Braz passes Bangsit's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Braz is working for a submission of some sort.

Braz is working for a kimura but Bangsit is defending it quite comfortably.

Bangsit manages to get to full guard.
Bangsit bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Braz's guard.

Bangsit in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Braz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bangsit.
Bangsit throws a strike but Braz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Bangsit lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Bangsit lands a couple of digs.
Bangsit slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bangsit is trying to work for a kimura but Braz is defending well.
Braz moves into full guard.
Bangsit throws an elbow that misses. Braz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bangsit's guard. Nice move by Braz!

Bangsit has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bangsit is on top in guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Braz can't keep his opponent in guard - Bangsit advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Bangsit seems to be looking for submissions.

Bangsit has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Braz defend it? Bangsit steps over the head and cranks it - Braz is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Bangsit!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Andy Bangsit!
Shoei Braz was interviewed post fight and said 'I`ll be back'.
